Parcel Courier
At some time in our lives, almost all of us have a requirement to employ the service of a parcel courier. There are many big brand household names in the courier industry that you would probably think of the moment you need a parcel delivery taken care of. These companies are worldwide courier brands and are names you can trust to deliver your parcel for you with care, and on time.
The only advice we would like to offer is before dealing with these companies directly, have a look and see who else you can use to do the same job at a lesser cost. There are hundreds of local courier companies you can deal with that would gladly take your parcel for you and have it delivered to its destination. You may well find many of these smaller courier companies are more cost effective than the big names as you don’t need to be sending parcels with them on a regular basis in the same way that you would need to if you wanted an account with the likes of DHL, Fedex, Parcel Force, TNT, DPD etc.
The other option is to look at using the services offered by courier resellers. This gives you the best of both worlds, a fantastic global service offered by an international brand, but at a much reduced price than if you actually went to them directly. Resellers are the answer to many people’s prayers who want a great parcel courier service without having to open an account with the companies directly, and who don’t want to pay the prices they charge for sending the odd parcel here and there. In fact, if you send less than 200 parcels a month, you will probably be better off using a reseller.
There are a few of them about on the Internet, and we have advertising on this site that will direct you to them so you can decide for yourself who is best to use.

International Parcels
So you are looking for a reliable courier company to take care of delivering your international parcels for you. Well, the first piece of advice we would offer you here is to make sure that whoever you use, be sure that your parcel delivery will be handled by an internationally recognised courier company such as DHL, Fedex, UPS etc. You can still book through a reseller if you wish which will reduce the cost dramatically, just make sure they use a decent company. Of course, the other advantage of using the courier reseller is that you don’t have to open an account and the online resellers have really nice, easy to use websites for you to book through 24 hours a day.
A good international parcels courier will send your packages to anywhere for you around the globe, be it to Australia, Thailand, Canada, Germany, France, Spain or anywhere else you need to send a parcel to. Look for a company that you can get in touch with easily, ideally having a free phone telephone number and one who offers you a good tracking service so you can keep up to date with exactly where in the world your parcel is.
We would also advise that you check the company’s terms and conditions before using their services. All courier companies will have a list of prohibited items; make sure you look to see if what you are sending is on their list. If it is, you can still send it; just don’t add any extra insurance as it will be a waste of your money. If your item is on the prohibited items list, then it won’t be insured.
So before you send your international parcels, be sure to do a little bit of research and feel comfortable with the company you use to handle your package for you.

Delivery service
Delivery service is just a different term for a courier company. There are many different types of service available, depending on what you are sending, where you are sending it, and how fast you need to get it there. The most popular parcel delivery service on the market is a standard 48 hour delivery. You will find many companies will offer a standard price for a parcel up to 30kg in weight as long as the package isn’t too large. Most have a maximum dimension on this economy service of 150cm. You will be offered a service and price for larger or heavier items, but the cost will increase as they require a more specialised courier service.
These services on the Internet are mainly offered by courier resellers. A courier reseller is a company that hold accounts with the major companies who offer parcel delivery services. They will send one or two parcels a month for lots of different individuals or small businesses and because this adds up to sending hundreds of parcels a day or week, they get given huge discounts off the couriers normal pricing structure. This cheaper priced courier service is then offered to you to make it more cost effective than if you went directly to the courier themselves. Another advantage to using such a reseller is that you don’t need to open accounts with them to use them, you can simply pay as you go.
The better resellers have clever websites that allow you to get a quote instantly, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You then choose the service you want and book it there and then, hassle free and very cost effective, especially if you send a lot of parcels that are heavier than 2kg as they then get cheaper than using the post office. The other advantage to this service is that you can track your parcel whilst it is in transit, and it gets signed for at the other end so you will have a proof of delivery. All these little extra features are very useful, and cost no extra. So before you send your next parcel using any delivery service, be sure to check out the reseller option!

Instant Courier Quote
Many same day courier sites that you visit on the Internet will explain to you that they can collect and deliver a parcel on the same day for you with ease. Getting a price to actually do the job from them is unfortunately not always so easy! They have great websites, but then when you want a price from them, you have to pick up the phone and try and get a quote from someone.
If you do have a parcel delivery that is urgent, and you want an instant same day courier quote, then click here. This company just ask you to enter the post code of the collection and delivery points into their online quote system, then decide what size vehicle you want. Once you have done that, you click the get quote button and you are presented with a price there and then within a second or two, brilliant!
If you are then happy with the price you have been quoted, you continue to enter the rest of the information about your parcel and the full address details for collection and delivery, review the summary and then pay with either PayPal or credit/debit card. That’s it! You are then presented with a confirmation page which gives you an order number. Keep a note of this number in case you need to get in touch with the parcel delivery company. You will also receive an email confirmation of your order just to be sure, and this also contains your order number for you.
So, don’t worry about having to pick up the phone to a dozen different same day couriers, just click here and get your quote instantly. What’s even better is that these people believe they are the cheapest same day courier company, and if you get a better price, just let them know and they will do their best to beat it!

Next Day Courier
You have many different parcel courier options open to you when you need to send a parcel via a courier company. The most commonly used services would be the next day courier which is also known as a 24 hour delivery service, and the 2-3 days service which is also known as the 48 hour option with many suppliers. It is worth noting that with DHL in particular, the 48 hour parcel delivery services will most of the time get delivered with the 24 hour timescale. In fact, I would go as far as to say that over 95% of parcels booked on this service will be delivered the next day.
Of course, we are talking about UK parcel delivery services here; International Courier Services are a bit different. You will be able to get next day courier services for international parcels, but these are expensive and are mostly only ever used in emergency cases when you have an urgent package to send.
Either way, whichever of the services you choose, you must understand that these courier companies very rarely guarantee the collection of your parcel, or the delivery of it within the timescales indicated by the service. Again, you will need to hunt down a guaranteed service and pay extra for it if a guarantee is what you need. The most expensive of these would be a same day service where the package is simply collected from point A and driven directly to point B. A great service, but you will pay per mile so the further the parcel needs to go, the more it will cost. This is not the same with Next Day Courier services. Next Day Courier services are all collected during the day, filtered through the national distribution networks during the night, and then delivered out the next day. As they are carried on vehicles that follow a particular route each day, the courier organisations can offer a fixed price for delivery within the UK Mainland.
Next Day Courier services are a great way to send your packages and can give a professional impression of your business or company to your customers. There is something more special about receiving a parcel from a courier driver rather than from the post man or woman. In an odd way, it makes the recipient of the package feel more important. You also normally have the ability to offer the recipient a consignment number which will enable them to track their parcel on the Internet, another nice little addition to your customer service level giving your organisation a bit of an edge.
If you are an individual rather than a business, you can also benefit from using these services. Most serious eBay sellers use courier services rather than the post, and these are mainly individuals working from home. The most cost effective way for individuals and small businesses to use parcel couriers is via a reseller rather than going direct to the likes of Parcel Force or UK Mail for example. You can obtain a quote from two different resellers here and here.
To give you an idea of the size of some of these huge organisations, we have found a short video from DHL Canada for you to watch if you like.
